Make your own yarn using the ancient craft of spinning, this is a satisfying way to create your own colourful and textured yarn to use in knitting, crochet or textile craft projects.
This workshop aims to teach you the basics of spinning which includes how to sort and wash sheep fleece, card fleece into rolags ready for spinning and spin using both a drop spindle and a spinning wheel. We will spin a variety of sheep breeds fleece, alpaca and coloured fleece. By the end of the workshop you will hopefully have gained enough skills, knowledge and confidence to spin your own yarn independently.
Suitable for all abilities, all equipment and are materials provided. You are welcome to bring your own equipment and fleece if you have them.
