The Japanese art of Kurinuki (which literally means ‘to hollow’) involves carving objects out of a single block of clay This is a slow, meditative process that produces unique, highly-textured results.
Using a range of tools and mark-masking objects, you will be guided by our tutor Jonto make your own traditional ‘chawan’ (teabowl) which will be then glazed and fired within a month so you can use it home.
