Learn how to make your own rag rug using traditional hooking and prodding techniques.
Explore how to make rag rugs with recycled fabric on a backing cloth of hessian or sisal, create different effects using a variety of rag rug tools and techniques. During the workshop you will be assisted with designing and make a start to create your own small rag rug, seat pad or cushion.
Materials and equipment will be supplied during the workshop and you will be given some fabric to take home. However, rag rugs need a large amount of time and fabric, so you will need to complete your project at home with your own tools and supplies of fabric and recycled materials. You are welcome to bring some of these to the workshop, if you already have them.
This workshop is suitable for all abilities.
