This intensive short course offers beginners and more advanced painters a unique opportunity to gain basic building blocks to produce an oil painting.
You will be given practical advice such as choosing the right materials and setting out your palette.
Marcin begins by showing how to make meaningful sketches for paintings. You will be encouraged to observe the still life and experiment. Participants will focus on colour mixing, composition, form, tonal values, colour relationships and identification. This workshop is taught mostly on one to one basis with tutor coming around to each person helping them to overcome obstacles. The teaching will include looking at the work of the modern masters such as van Gogh, Matisse, Morandi, Dibenkorn to analyse their techniques and strategies.
